The Story

A calling in the middle of West Texas

Midland has always been a place of contrasts. Oil wealth and deep need have coexisted here for generations, through every boom and bust the Permian Basin has seen.

John-Mark and Briana Echols grew up knowing this. When they felt called to act, they sold their home, left their careers, and started building, one tiny house at a time, a permanent community where people could put down roots and rebuild their lives.

Filmmaker Matthew Maxwell returned to his hometown to document what that kind of commitment looks like over years, not weeks. This is what he found.

Host a Screening

Your living room could be the next chapter of this story.

The most powerful screenings we have seen aren't in theaters. They happen in living rooms and backyards, where someone stops and says: "I had no idea this was happening right here in Midland."

Hosting a screening is one of the most direct ways to help us grow. Invite your neighbors, your church, your coworkers. We will send you a discussion guide and connect you with someone from our team. If we can, we will come join you in person to share what God is doing in the Village today.

Every circle of people who watches this film is a circle of people who might give, volunteer, or simply show up. That is how this mission spreads.
